The development of communities in and around the urban hub of Downtown Miami has allowed city planners and developers to create smart communities that promote living, traveling and working in well-planned spaces. There has been a huge push in urban living enthusiasm the past couple years with people coming out of the suburbs and back into the city. Communities in and around Downtown Miami have met this demand with well-planned streets, fabulous urban centers and residential property in areas close to where people work. Listed below are three communities that have met and exceeded the expectations of urban enthusiasts:
Midtown: This community may be the ultimate example of a well-planned Miami urban living area. With urban centers like the Shops at Midtown featuring shopping, dining, condominiums and public green space – this is a great central area for the community to gather. Midtown has its own thriving commercial properties but is also only a short trip into the central commerce areas of Downtown Miami. Midtown has developed its own identity as a modern hub for sophisticated professionals. Many community art, music and other cultural events are held in Midtown.
Design District: The Design District is an area just north of Midtown developed to become a cultural hub of Miami. This area features creatively designed buildings, art studios and much more that bring character and culture to the area. Condos and homes in the area are highly valued because of the great shops, dining and frequent events held. Every second Saturday of the month, an ArtWalk is held which allows residents and art enthusiasts to browse the many fantastic art studios in the area.
Edgewater: This area does not have the same commercial development as Midtown or the Design District but does feature fabulous waterfront condominiums. Edgewater is east of Midtown and the Design District providing the community with unique waterfront access. Edgewater also has its fair share of quality restaurants and shops and is only a trip into the hustle and bustle of Brickell and Downtown Miami.
