New York-based Greystone & Co. has submitted plans to partially demolish a historic building at 2500 Biscayne Boulevard that dates back to 1923.
A 20-story residential tower is planned to be integrated with the remains of the structure.
Greystone bought the .87 acre property earlier this year for $10 million. A local developer is partnering with Greystone on the project.
The plan was scheduled to be reviewed by Miami’s Historic Preservation Board yesterday . The city’s preservation office is recommending that the board vote to deny the plan.
Behar Font & Partners is the project architect.
